The Great Link Building Service Experiement 2011 – Week 4 – Wow!

by on March 13, 2011

Wow, week four is apparently the week that stuff really starts happening!

If you haven’t been following my link building service experiment, go check out the details there first.  Then read the update from week 2/3 for some stuff I left out of the initial report.  Note that this is Week 4 since I registered the sites, and really only Week 3 since starting to use the link building services.

Here is the summary for the impatient:

The BuildMyRank site hit the second page of Google!  The 1Waylinks site and LinkAloha site hit page 4!  All this after less than three weeks of link building for a fairly hard keyword on a new domain.  Honestly, I’m pretty excited.  These results are far better than I was expecting for such a short time.

Link Building Service Week 4 Results

BuildMyRank Site (.org):

  • Google Rank: 14
  • Pages Indexed: 8
  • Yahoo reported Backlinks: 9

Wow!  I have only created 16 articles so far pointing at my BuildMyRank site.  Since they don’t allow spun or duplicate content, I wrote all 16 articles myself, took about 3 hours total to write and submit them since they only need to be 150 words each.    I’m *really* impressed at the results here so far with so few links, with the site sitting at #14 for my main keyword search.

There is a 10 post limit per site per day to the number of articles you submit to BuildMyRank and they all must be original non-spun content, so I have plenty of room to grow here.  After seeing these results, I could probably go 50-100 articles here a month with about 5 hours a week of effort and pop a site onto Google page one very quickly.  I could save the time and pay their article writers $2.50 per article instead if I wanted.  Hell, to hit the second page of Google in only a few weeks for a  competitive keyword, it’s totally worth it.

1WayLinks Site (.net):

  • Google Rank: 44
  • Pages Indexed:8
  • Yahoo reported Backlinks: 144

So far I have used 350 article submissions pointing at my 1WayLinks site, all spun from the same article.  Took about 3 hours to write and spin the article.  Not a bad backlink result at 144 found by Yahoo, but they appear to be worth far less than the 16 links from BuildMyRank. Unlike BuildMyRank above which is only limited by your article writing ability, you can only get 250 articles a month to start at 1WayLinks, then 50 more per month for each blog you add to the 1WayLinks network.  So the link quantities are limited, but I have some great ideas on how to significantly boost the link power from 1WayLinks.   I wanted to try a few months without adding any extra link building here just to see what happens.  So far so good.

LinkAloha Site (.com):

  • Google Rank: 47
  • Pages Indexed: 9
  • Yahoo reported Backlinks: 11

Woah!  Honestly, the LinkAloha site is really the stand out here.  Unlike the others, there was absolutely no effort at all required.  Took about 5 minutes to set it up to start building links.  Even though only 11 links appear in the Yahoo backlink report, this site is in the same page as the 1WayLinks one with about 5% the effort.   Again, in future months I’ll be boosting these links to see if I can get an even bigger bump from them.  Unfortunately for you, LinkAloha is closed to new signups!  Their server infrastructure can only handle so many links a month.   Check back with them every once in a while, as people drop out sometimes and they add new servers.

UniqueArticleWizard Site (.org)

  • Google Rank: 159
  • Pages Indexed: 7
  • Yahoo reported Backlinks: 15

The UniqueArticleWizard site isn’t doing half as well as the others.  Spent about 3 hours writing an article and submitting it as is with no extra spinning that what’s required by the interface and the results were subpar.  Nice that it’s actually on the map though.  But at $70 a month plus the effort of writing the articles, I’d put this service at the bottom of my list.  I’m going to try some deeper spinning on the next article and see what happens.  If this doesn’t improve in the next month or two, I’m going to drop it.

My own manual SEO efforts (.net)

  • Google Rank: None in top 500
  • Pages Indexed: 9
  • Yahoo reported Backlinks: 0

Ha!  See how good at link building I am?  I’ve submitted 3 hours worth of articles to EzineArticles, ArticlesBase, and others, plus some blog commenting on blogs related to the niche here, and used Onlywire to post the site to 30ish Social Media sites.  And what do I have to show for it?  Absolutely nothing!
